Authors field too short for some books

Post by kell »

How can I enter authors' names when they exceed the available length of 255 signs? Example:

You can try including the main part, for example, the authors whose last names are most often used for searches. The remaining part can be added to the description.

How I handle it is fill in as many as possible in author, with an 'etc' at the end.

Also remember its a CSV - comma separated variable field, so you don't have to write

Author One, Author Two, Author Three, Author Four,...

Lose the space:

Author One,Author Two,Author Three,Author Four,...

Over a long author list, that'll usually get you enough space to put another author in. With academic works, start with the editors as they're the ones most are likely to search for, and list the authors after. Don't add (ed), (editor), or anything of the sort. Space is at a premium and the site will index those as part of the person's name. If you have to make a distinction, eg:

Translated by Author four

put that at the top of the description itself.
