How can I view the most recently uploaded books?

Post by matt »

Hi everyone,

I remember there used to be a page or section where users could view the most recently uploaded books on the site. However, I have not been able to find it recently.

Could someone please let me know where I can access the latest uploads, or whether this feature has been moved or removed?

Thanks in advance!

Hello,
You can see such files by setting the necessary filters and sorting of search results. For example, set the language to English and sort by recently added.

I see. Thank you for the reply!

Would the team consider creating a separate “Recently Uploaded” page or section in the future? The current method does work, but it is a bit hidden and not very intuitive for regular users. I would bet that many users are not aware that they can find recently uploaded books this way.

If there were a dedicated page for recently uploaded books, it could encourage book lovers to casually browse new additions on the site. I think this would be a very useful and attractive feature.

There used to be exactly that. The publishers started using it as a checklist for what to issue takedowns for, so it was moved to its current not-all-in-one-feed method.

I see your point, and that makes sense.

However, I wonder whether this really prevents publishers from finding newly uploaded books. If publishers have a strong incentive to monitor new uploads, they can probably still figure out the current method by using filters and sorting, or even automate the process.

On the other hand, ordinary users are much less likely to discover this method. So in practice, the current design may make the feature harder for regular readers to use, while not really stopping highly motivated publishers.

They do. What this method makes harder however, is the browsing. Where they go to issue one takedown, and 'hello, you shouldn't be here. Didn't come for you, but whilst I'm here...'

Books slip through because they've cleared new uploads before all possible parameters are checked for - and the site anti-bot controls, prevent someone checking too many searches too quickly. Its not perfect, but it works better.

True, but it has to be a careful balancing act.
