Try opening the files in an online reader and choose the best option.

It's hard to know which ones are the "original version", converted or edited just by looking at its size.
The size difference could be due to amount of images in the book, image quality, added written content (like new prefaces, forwards, footnotes etc).
Another variable is which edition it is. It could be Canadian, American, British, Indian etc. And of course the year of each edition.
All in all, if people don't add information to the file it's hard to know.
PS.: People normally don't convert files to AZW. As it's a proprietary extension, files normally come in this format. I would start with them.

Judging solely from an EPUB file itself, it is difficult to tell whether it is an original EPUB or one converted from AZW3 or MOBI. File size alone cannot serve as a reliable differentiator.

You need to download all EPUB files and open them in Sigil to examine their internal file‑structure. Converted Kindle‑originated files tend to lack proper folder hierarchies and end with plain HTML files. A genuine native EPUB follows the path OOBPS/Text/XXXX.xhtml.

As for file size, besides verifying whether the internal structure matches the original text and layout, you should also check for missing images inside the image folder. If all images are present, inspect their dimensions for higher‑resolution sources. Finally, check the font folder for embedded font files. For the same book, prioritize larger‑sized files; they usually contain higher‑resolution images.
