Standard Search Query
Searches all fields for title, author, publisher, ISBN, DOI, etc. You can expand this and make it more specific by adding search options such as year, language, extension or type of content.
For example: search for an author Celia Haddon — finds books with matches in the author field.
The “Best Match” sort option brings books with the most keyword matches to the top.
For example: search for a word time including Best Match filter — books with matches in all fields (title, author, and publisher) appear at the top.
The “Exact Matching” option requires an exact word form, exact word order, and no other words between the search terms. For example:
- A standard search query time photos — finds the book *TIME: The Most Influential Photos of All Time* (there are other words between the search terms);
- A search query time photos including Exact Matching option — there are no other words between the search terms;
- A search query for a word "cats" — finds books that have “cat” in their fields (not an exact match);
- A search query cats including Exact Matching option — only books that have “cats” in their fields;
Specifying a search field
- title: [search query]
- author: [search query]
- publisher: [search query]
For example: a search query title:Celia Haddon — does not find books where Celia Haddon is the author, but finds partial matches in the title field.
Combining Search Terms
- [search query] title:[search query]
- [search query] author:[search query]
- [search query] publisher:[search query]
For example: a search query songs publisher:Carcanet — searches for “Songs” only when the publisher is Carcanet.
Combination of fields
title:[search query] author:[search query] publisher:[search query]
The specified fields can be listed in any order
For example: a search query title:weather author:Neil — searches for books that have “Weather” in the title field and “Neil” in the author field.
Exclusion words
[search query] -[word] -[word]
Excludes results that match the exclusion words.
For example: a search query maps -city -pdf — searches for matches containing “Maps” and excludes results containing the word “City”, and PDF extension.
By the way, excluded words might also be extensions.
Besides browsing our website, you can also search for books using yourpersonal Telegram bot. This allows you to find and download books conveniently. The search function has recently been enhanced, allowing you to search by title, author, or preferred language.
